Seneca Lake Kayak kicks off the Southeast Seneca corridor with a colorful display of single and tandem kayaks along the shoreline. It may be one of the best ways to experience Seneca Lake like a local. For visitors, they offer a rich experience of local history and wildlife with their daily guided tours. Visiting Hector Falls and the canal, Paul and his team are very knowledgeable about the local wildlife, spotting eagles and snowy egrets, along with tying in the history of the Erie Canal.
Paul Dieseroth is a native of the Finger Lakes Region. He is an avid outdoor enthusiast with a big heart. He previously worked for Children’s Village in Westchester County, leading outdoor activities for disadvantaged children to boost morale and spirits. Seeking a new adventure, he found himself drawn to Arizona, where he became the director of outdoor recreation for the youth of a mining town.
Returning to the Northeast in search of a “retirement job,” Paul decided to put his business degree from Elmira College to use by launching his first kayak rental business in 2002 in the town of Cornwall on the Hudson River Valley.
On a trip back to visit his family, Paul noticed the amount of growth in tourism in the region, strikingly different from when he left. Seeing an opportunity at the south end of Seneca Lake, he moved his operation there in 2015.
Paul and his partner Lisa have a wonderful crew including Joe Fivie, Kyle Edele and Jess Thorpe that are all passionate and well informed about the area, due to many years in the hospitality sector.
Many locals visit frequently for an inexpensive day on the water and a relaxing way to enjoy the lake. With so many sights to explore along the way, whether you grab a paddleboard or a kayak, you are sure to have a great time! We are so lucky to have Paul as a member. The lake brings us life here, and giving visitors an opportunity to enjoy it is an incredible asset.
