Finger Lakes
RV Resort
The Finger Lakes RV Resort is one of the newest and exciting lodging options to launch in the Finger Lakes. For owners, Rachael and Doug Mancuso, all it took was an impromptu visit to our area, a Two Goats sunset, and experiences at a few of the local wineries for them to know that
Seneca Lake was the right place for their next chapter. In 2014, Rachael and Doug left Philadelphia in search of a new adventure. Both had worked hard and built careers where remote work was an option, so they moved to Park City, Utah to enjoy all of the hiking, biking, and skiing the area has to offer. Five years later, they set out in their Airstream, planning to visit other mountain towns, hoping to find a place to lay down roots, somewhere beautiful that offered outdoor adventure.
Doug was a partner and founder for his own architecture firm based in the Philadelphia area. He spent his career designing high-end custom residential homes in the Philadelphia area and across the country. His creativity and design experience are evident immediately when you walk through the doors of the RV Resort. The bathhouse garners the most praise, as they made it a relaxing and inviting space with calming colors and beautiful design elements. Doug quipped that every building “should” be special, even if it’s a RV Park Bathhouse.
Rachael grew up in a small town in Western Pennsylvania and earned bachelors degrees in both Finance & Economics, going on to work in finance for Boeing and QVC. She later transitioned to a smaller beauty company, where she was VP of Retail Sales setting strategies for sales, marketing, and supply chain. Working with a smaller team allowed her creative juices to flow, giving her plenty of experience in branding and marketing along with her finance background.
The layout and design of the park were planned with thought and care. After years of traveling to different campgrounds, Doug and Rachael together were able to use their experiences to develop an peaceful and relaxing RV experience. They have focused on being an adult and dog-friendly park, also offering unique visitor experiences by partnering with their neighbors Hector Wine Company and Red Newt Cellars. They built paths to each tasting room, allowing their guests to easily walk and support their neighboring small businesses. Naturally, RV Resorts bring adventure lovers looking to hike, kayak, and visit the waterfalls, offering a whole new demographic of visitors a way to stay right in the heart of South East Seneca.
Supporting the local community has been a priority since their first season in 2022. They started a “Camping for a Cause” program that donates a portion of their revenue to local causes ranging from the Hector Food Pantry to the Humane Society.
Together, Rachael and Doug are quite the team; they are best friends and partners in their vision of the Finger Lakes RV Resort. They both bring their strengths, along with creativity and business experience, to their endeavor. They have been successful in fully booking their resort, bringing an average of 120 guests a weekend to the area. In 2025, they will be adding 10 more sites.
Rachael and Doug have quickly become part of the community, and after just a few minutes of getting to know them, it’s easy to see why. We’re thrilled they chose to lay down roots here. Watching their business grow and evolve will be exciting, and hopefully you get a chance to meet them and their sweet pup, Gertrude!
